ES Global pride ourselves on a reputation for delivering on time, every time. Recently we have expanded that approach successfully to rapidly deployable public sector projects.

We brought ES Global’s trademark can-do approach to fast-track construction to deliver a new Inland Border Facility near Ashford, Kent in just over a year.
The facility hosts inspections of plant, produce and animal freight inbound through the Channel Tunnel. In the midst of an active lorry park where HMRC was conducting VAT inspections, we put in place the five main portal frame buildings, associated services and 27 underground tanks ranging in size up to 40 cubic metres. Also included were a set of two-storey office buildings housing a large number of stakeholders, all of whom were consulted in detail on their own bespoke fit-outs as construction progressed, in order to complete the facility on time.

In advance of the introduction of increased border checks from July 2022, we designed and built a new state-of-the art secure facility within an existing building, to allow inspections of food produce coming through the Port of Dover to start on time.
Using fast-track techniques and truss systems familiar to our staging teams, we built a grid and envelope for the new building under the roof of a former DEFRA distribution centre, before installing drive-in inspection bays, specialist temperature-controlled storage and a range of other systems and offices. The project was completed in just eight months and handed over in spring 2022, allowing the smooth flow of safe food through Dover under the new regime.
