Tokyo 2020 Shooting

For the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, a temporary arena was required to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games of the Modern Shooting competition. After the Games, the temporary arenas are to be removed, returning the site to its former use. The Shooting venue in Tokyo and London were similar designs based on the ESG Standard equipment for most of the buildings. The two games venues differed due to engineering requirements, Japan is in a high seismic activity area, and specific requests by the local OC, such as seating capacities or ISSF with number of shooting positions. In London, the venues were naturally ventilated, and we designed specific roof ventilation that was unique to London where in Japan with extreme climate conditions the buildings were cooled with HVAC system. The ESG components are versatile and can be configured in different ways to archive a common design goal. These structures have been utilised for many other structures other than shooting venues, using the same principles and components we have built ceremony function spaces, large storage spaces and concert staging. ES GLOBAL systems are only restricted by imagination. Our was contracted to design, supply, construct and dismantle/ remove the Trap and Skeet, Qualification and 50m range temporary buildings
